Holy Trinity Church in Halstead was built in 1843, on the site of a 15th century chapel building. It is a now redundant Anglican church, designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building. Another church building in Halstead is the 14th century St Andrew's, which, although it was extensively renovated during the Victorian period, retains much earlier decoration. There is a Grade I listed Elizabethan country house nearby (Moyns Park) which is said to have been where Ian Fleming finished his James Bond novel "From Russia, with Love".
